Fundamentals of the GEAC Logo
A lighthouse provides a reference light (symbolizing knowledge) to whoever seeks guidance. The lighthouse of our GEAC emblem directs its light both to the sea and to the land, which is a direct reference to our work in coastal systems of the Land-Sea interface. The year 2003 refers to the year of foundation, when we took on the challenge of doing it in Patagonia Argentina and CENPAT would be the appropriate setting.
After reviewing all the lighthouses on the Argentine coast, the Punta Delgada lighthouse was chosen because:
1) It is in the Valdés Peninsula, which is a benchmark for Patagonia throughout the world.
2) It has a very nice silhouette.
3) It is one of the oldest in Argentina, which implies a commitment to last over time in a country where achieving stability is not easy.
4) It is one of the few that at the time of founding the GEAC was still inhabited (and not automated), which represents the added value that we give to human relations in everything we do.
I hope you like it!
